What’s Going On

You’ve Got Places to Go, People to See

Things to do in Lanark Village Florida

If you can’t find something to do in Lanark, you’re not trying hard enough. The events listed here occur with a regularity you can count on…kind of. We reserve the right to hang a “Gone Fishin” or “Open When I Get Here, Closed When I Leave” sign on any door. Stuff happens, so check with the original source before arriving. Have fun!

Thirsty Thursday

Show off your exceptional culinary skills, creatively dispose of excess Farmshare distributions, or just pick up a bucket of chicken (jk again, because…where?), and join your neighbors for dinner and drinks. Everybody gets thirsty. There’s no shame in that.

Check the Lanark Life Facebook page before you go just to be sure we’re there. You don’t have to eat alone.

FSU Coastal and Marine Lab

First Friday

The first Friday of every month in downtown Carrabelle. Lively tunes pour through the open doors of Rio Carrabelle and merchants will pour you a complimentary glass of wine or beer. Stores and restaurants stay open late, so you can shop, eat, drink, and tap your foot to the street music against the backdrop of Carrabelle’s lovely little riverside setting. Check out the Happening In or Around Carrabelle Facebook page for updates.

Art

Make art (or learn about it) on Tuesdays between 1-3 with the Carrabelle Artist Association. Don’t let the name intimidate you - beginners are welcome. Don’t have supplies? Don’t worry; they’ll supply you. Just show up at the senior center and have a good time. Check their Facebook page to find out what’s on the roster for the week or join the Association and get their calendar by email.

Farmers Markets

Every Saturday morning from 9-1. Alternating weekends - at the Crooked River Lighthouse on 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays of the month, and at the Mill Pond Pavilion in Apalachicola on the 2nd and 4th. The second Saturday of the month, there’s also a Fresh Market at the Lanark Village Boat Club. Check the linked pages for details and updates.

Full Moon Celebration

At the Crooked River Lighthouse, monthly on (you guessed it) the full moon. Check the CRL’s webpage for updates regarding music, food, tours, and a chance to climb to the top of the lighthouse. Reserve early - it’s fun so they sell out.

Happy Hour Heroes

Tuesdays 4-6 at Harry’s Bar in Carrabelle. Aren’t Tuesday’s shaping up to be the most incredible days? You can have Coffee with Friends at Chillas Hall in the morning. At lunch you’re on your own, but as soon as you’ve eaten, you can go to art day at the senior center in Carrabelle, then to Happy Hour Heroes at 4, then to Tasty Tuesdays at the Legion Hall just in time for dinner, and still catch a game with friends at Chillas before hitting the hay. What a life!

Check the Village Idiot Facebook page for updates about Happy Hour Heroes. You don’t have to drink alone (or draw or eat…there’s no need to play solitaire either).

Camp Gordon Johnston Museum

Tuesday-Saturday 11-5. Visit the museum that honors those who spent time training and working at Camp Gordon Johnston during WWII. The museum is located at 1873 Highway 98 West. Check out their website for details.

Farm Share

Farm Share food distribution weekly on Wednesdays. Usually in the late morning or early afternoon but check their Facebook page for time and location.

That should keep you busy! But if you sometimes feel like ranging further afield, check out these day trips within a 2-hour drive for some variety.
